Suffolk Schools Track and Field Championships 2023

This year the Suffolk Schools Track and Field Championships will again be merged with the Suffolk County T & F Championships.

The competition will take place on Sunday 14th May at Bury St Edmunds Leisure Centre

The Suffolk Schools’ event is open to

The Minors / Under 13 (Years 6 & 7) age group are only eligible to enter the Suffolk County Athletics Championship, NOT the Schools’ competition.

Events for the different age groups are listed on the document below and also appear on the SCAA website

Entry for the Competitions is via the online entry form ONLY and must be done individually by the athlete/parent/guardian. When filling out the Entry Form, it is important that the athlete annotates whether they are entering both competitions or just the Schools’ Event.

There is an entry fee for the events, which is reduced if the athlete is only competing in the Schools’ competition. Fuller details on the conditions of entry are on the attached document and the SCAA websiteDeadline for entries is Friday 28th April 2023

In essence this is the first round for the English Schools T&F selection. However, there is unlikely to be a regional/Anglian round so this may be the only opportunity for athletes to perform. With this is in mind, and as we have done for the last two years, selection for English Schools will be done on a combination of results from the Suffolk Schools’ competition and results achieved by athletes at additional events (they must be verifiable on the Power of 10 website). Athletes must also have met, or be very close to, the English School Entry Standard. These can be checked on the document below.

We will soon have an online form for athletes to register any achievements that have met or come close to a standard.

You may have seen in the news that ESAA have lost their sponsor for the T&F and CC events. They are reaching out for new sponsors, but in the meantime have a Go-FundMe page to try and support this years T&F event. If you are able to support in any way it would be greatly appreciated.
